A Ministerial dinner is planned for the evening of December 8, 2025. 

Details of the dinner will be included in the Logistics Note.

Meeting Objectives
  • Share updates on infrastructure initiatives and priorities, including for the Government of Canada, the new Build Communities Strong Fund.  
  • Consider Buy Canadian approaches by updating policies and plans underway across jurisdictions and opportunities for alignment
  • Strengthen FPT relationships and collaboration on Canadian infrastructure priorities.

    Session Objectives: 

    • Update on federal infrastructure investments, including the Build Communities Strong Fund announced in Budget 2025. Other items for discussion include:
      • Seek PT input on infrastructure priorities and how provincial, territorial and federal governments can work together to reduce costs barriers to development, such as development charges, for Canadians.
      • Specifically understand PT recommendations on eligible asset classes, and priorities on housing enabling infrastructure, health infrastructure, education infrastructure and transit.
    • Share information and updates on PT infrastructure priorities.

    Federal Update on the latest US tariffs on Canadian goods and products.  

    Seek update from PTs regarding their own initiative to Buy Canadian

    Discussion how to take down internal trade barriers to maximize our investment in housing and infrastructure

    Session Objectives:

    • To provide a federal update on the current situation regarding tariffs for PTs and discuss best practices for shoring up demand for Canadian made products.
